Example 1:
My name is Joan Smith. I am interested in running for Vice President of the Tenants’ Association board. I would like to be considered for this position for multiple reasons:
  1. I have many ideas that would be beneficial to our community concerning safety, funds management, community garden supplies, emergency preparedness and board management. More importantly, I’d serve your concerns!
    1. I am qualified to represent you. I have a masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) and 10 years of business experience including management, accounting, information technology, non-profit, and governance. I have lived in West Campus for two years.
    1. I would like to better the community for my family, friends and you! My most important qualification is that I am a mother of one, wife of one and friend of many (and hopefully many more!). I am a good listener and would love to make a community that is safer, cleaner and more enjoyable!
If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact me at myemail{at}gmail.com or 805-555-1212.

    Example 2:
My name is John Doe and I am interested in joining the TA Board as the Vice President. I am interested in the position because I would like to help out in my community. I have lived in Family Housing for 2 years. I can be contacted at Doe{at}yahoo.com or 805-555-1212.

    Example 3:

My name is Jennifer Jones. I am running for West Campus Representative.  My husband is a PhD student in Philosophy and I am a full-time mom to our two little girls. We have lived here at West Campus for 4 years.
If I am elected I will work to serve the needs of the community wholeheartedly. My main goal as a representative is to support students and their families by promoting health and safety in our community as well as all concerns and ideas brought forth to the board.
I love working with residents and being a part of the West Campus community. I hope that you will allow me to represent you and your concerns on the TA board.

    Example 4

    Name: Timothy Thomas

    Email:
    TTTTT{at}umail.ucsb.edu

    Phone:  (805) 555-1212

Desired Position: Vice- President, Family Student Housing Tenant's Association

Reason for Running: When I hear the seals barking from Sand's Beach through my window, or walk through the community gardens with my wife, or play with my son at the Storke playground, I'm reminded what a fantastic place this is we call home. I'd love to work to make it even a better place. In my three years here, I?ve lived both in West Campus and Storke. Some of you may know me as the organizer of the Saturday Angleball games (we?ll be starting the new season soon by the way, so keep an eye out for us and come play!) or as an occasional contributor to the Foghorn. Why vote for me? I guess because I've come to really value this community and want to help keep it the sort of place everyone living here can enjoy. And that's easier to do when you have people working on your behalf to address problems like raccoons, mold, swallows, parking, internet service and so on.
